Is the Washing Pole good in Dark Souls 1? ›

It's a decent weapon. It's reach gives it a range advantage over shorter weapons, while it's speed gives it an advantage over larger weapons. It's stab attack is almost as long as some shorter spears. It does have a low durability, so keep some repair powder around.

Availability. Shiva of the East sells Washing Poles in Blighttown for 20,000 souls. Players must be in the Forest Hunter Covenant to encounter him at either location.

The name "Washing Pole" is a reference to the famous Japanese swordsman Sasaki Kojirō (佐々木 小次郎), and his weapon of choice.

washpole has the best range, but its really not that noticable because of the arc of the slash. All in all your choice, but if you are planning on throwing lightning on it, go for the uchigatana, just don't expect to be the only one wielding one of these bad boys.

A standard and well-balanced katana, the Uchigatana can be a formidable weapon when upgraded properly. It has moderately low Strength and Dexterity wielding requirements, making it a useful weapon on builds that do not specialize in physical damage output.

Greatshields are known for having the highest stability out of the shields, with the highest being a Crystal Tower Shield. Ultra Greatswords, meanwhile, have the highest out of the weapons. While reinforcing a shield usually increases its stability, some shields only have their damage increased.

Wanderers also have the option to fight at range with a bow, or with spells, thanks to their fairly high Attunement and Intelligence stats. At 84 stat points (if their levels were reduced to one), Wanderers are tied with Pyromancers for the highest starting statistics, making the class a good candidate for a PvP build.

There is no real use to this ring other than increasing the difficulty of the game, although it can be useful for psychological warfare, making the opponent doubt whether one is a novice who does not know better or a skilled expert waiting for unexpecting players to take the bait offered by that added weakness.
